RIARA BUCKS HIT ZETECH TO ADVANCE TO FINALS
NBA newcomers, RIARA University advanced to the Nairobi Basketball Association Play-offs final after stopping Zetech University 62-50 in semi-finals of Game Four at Railway Club.
The “Bucks” marched on after winning the best of five series 3-1. They will now meet either Ulinzi or Usiu, who play Game Five of their semi-finals on Saturday with the series, tied 2-2. Nimrod Khendi, the NBA free throw leader, scored 19 points and Arol Run posted 17. The losers, who will now play for third/fourth position, had 16 from sharp shooter Ian Muindu and 13 from Vincent Odhiambo.
Captain Nimrod Khendi attributed the win to well calculated offensive and a strong defense. Coach Zeddy was satisfied with the boys’ performance, saying they exhibited the best performance so far.
